Apple Inc, the gadget making company recently unleashed its latest iPad, a tablet computer that they predict would take the market by its heart. The launch was conducted in the usual Apple Inc gallivanting and Gallic manner of presenting any of their products to the waiting world. Yet for all the noise that this sleek device has made or is making, there has been a note of caution though as a stiff competitor has been sensed to the iPad.
The competitor named astutely the Adam is also a tablet PC with an NVIDIA Tegra Based 1GHZ dual core ARM cortex A9 CPU at its core. If that sounds or reads technically boggling, then the fact that it runs on the Andriod OS by the makers of none other than the software giants Google would sure set the mind racing. The guys at Notion Ink gave it a sleek design to add for the cool look product logo.
The Adam weighs a seductive 1.7lbs, has a gorgeous 10.1-inch Pixel Qi display which converts to 1024 by 600 resolution in pixels and contains 32 GB of storage space. With its dainty touch screen and a flashy 3.2 mega pixel camera this tablet PC would sure give the iPad a run for its money. Along with these luring specs the Adam also boasts of high speed 3G support with Wi-Fi connectivity. It is Bluetooth enabled and has three USB ports for connecting to any other external USB devices.
The Adam has one other exclusive feature which has gone missing from both the iPad and iPhone. The Adam is capable of playing Flash files, the digital format of both the wireless and wired world of today. And if these features did not keep the Apple inc team awake for sure the specs of a 10 hour long battery life of the Adam keep the Apple team charged up. This battery life goes to an astounding 160 hours if the Adam is used without the backlight option. The screen uses the translective technology and this permits using the screen without the backlight feature as it reflects the available surrounding natural lighting.
Pricing and publishing this posh product remains a hush hush affair as yet. However the grapevine murmur has it that by the June of this year it would be made available in the US at an approximated price of $325, which once again would be way below the $499 that the iPad in its basic version is priced
